Collection: Serie: Lo Carnal y Lo Virginal: Lo Divino

Through watercolor, mixed media and abstraction with a soft feminine line, this series juxtaposes the Virgin and Vaginas in a way that are almost unidentifiable from one another. A symbolic negotiation between usually understood opposing forces. By embracing and expressing these inner contradictions, I aim to contemplate my own inner landscape and it’s delicate equilibrium

This series explores the balance between the concepts of the carnal and the virginal. Jung posited that these archetypal forces exist within all of us, representing not only our primal desires and instincts (the carnal) but also our purity, innocence, and potential (the virginal). These concepts represent symbolic polarities of the human nature that seek balance and integration through acceptance.

In “Lo carnal y lo virginal”, with the utmost respect, faith and devotion to the Virgin Mary and to my body and its psychological journey, I embrace the full spectrum of the human experience acknowledging my vulnerabilities and strengths, my desires and aspirations—and to discover through acceptance a profound sense of balance and unity.
